“Let there be light” Genesis 1:3a.
Let the light of Christ shine in your heart with His grace and truth in order to dispel all darkness.
“Let there be light” was the most magnificent and profound creative command of God in Genesis. After sending the first light into the world, God declared that light was good for His creation, which is opposite with darkness. The goodness of light vs. the evil of darkness is the major theme that runs through the Bible from Genesis to Revelation.
Christ declared Himself to be the light of the world (John 8:12). Not only that Christ is the light of the world, He will be the light for anyone who believes in Him as Lord and Savior.
As the world is descending into utter darkness, it needs the light of Christ more than ever. The darkness of the world may have entered your life already if you are not watchful. Today, examine your life and make sure that Christ always reigns supreme as Lord of all areas of your life. Let there be light in the world, but more importantly, let there be light in your life.
Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ, may Your light continue to shine in us, through us, and to others. Amen.
